Research & Development
Our formulations, testing, and manufacturing take place in the pristine foothills of the Black Forest in Germany. As the true experts in the areas of health and chemistry, our development team of chemists, biochemists, and dermatologists develop formulas to create scientifically backed products. Free from the pressure of peddling unsubstantiated marketing claims like ‘no nasties’ or ‘clean formulas’, (which are, by the way, self-regulated claims) our PhDs blend the latest cosmetic innovations with 75 years of experience to provide effective, safe products.
Natural Raw Ingredients
In addition to using the pure fresh waters from the Black Forest which is full of minerals, each and every one of our products contains a minimum of 90% natural ingredients. Our raw ingredients are sustainably sourced and we pursue fair trade initiatives in their procurement. Most importantly, we choose only the purest, highest grade raw ingredients for the optimal outcome. From small clay quarries in Switzerland, to argan farmers in North Africa, we scour the globe to deliver unparalleled product quality.
Dermatologically Tested
From our very beginning in scalp care, circa 1942, dermatological tolerance is strictly adhered to. Indeed, our very first product, a soothing scalp tonic, was developed for babies’ sensitive scalps. (A combination of lavender, camomile, and fatty acids, it was the first product ever to remedy this issue using natural ingredients). Nowadays, in addition to one of the largest portfolios in scalp treatments among beauty brands, La Biosthetique’s testing program involves a consortium of leading European universities, responsible for providing unbiased, clinical data on the efficacy and safety of products.
Sensory Approach
Our product ranges contain a library of signature scents, created by renowned perfumers across Germany and Paris. Even the surface of many of our bottles has been designed with ‘soft touch’ plastic, with a microscopic scoring on the surface to give a velvety feel in hand. We avoid ‘stickers’ at all cost, which can break recycling machines, and this is why we have no sticker labels; 100% of our products have easily recyclable packaging.
